As in the non-cyber world, there are those few in
cyberspace who are not what they appear to be, who
want to wreak havoc, are criminals or want to be,
and who do not care a whit about you or your
personal security or happiness.
And they usually try to hide their intentions with
a friendly facade. It is easy to be fooled.
We want you to be safe and secure. Please
do not loan or give money or valuables to
online friends, or participate in *any* scheme
involving money.
Please do not arrange a private
non-cyber meeting with anyone. If however you decide
to do so, meet in a public place and bring along a
friend. Never meet alone until you've verified the
person's identity and given it to a trusted friend.
There is great danger here.
The links below will yield more common sense 'rules'
to help keep you safe from cyber predators/criminals,
spammers, and others who don't have your best interests
at heart.
Please read through all the safety information linked
below and think carefully about your safety even if
