"Your personal confidence might be someone else's gossip."
That secret you just told someone because it was weighing heavily on your mind?
What happens if it becomes common knowledge by tomorrow?
That confidence someone gave you? Do you hold it as sacred as they did when
they gave it to you?
Please do not gossip.
It's as plain, and as simple as that. Good manners, maybe, but in the case of
the Internet, it's something some folks need reminders of. And we like to think
Callahans is a place for good mamnners..:)
Who's fooling around with who? Who's formed a relationship with that one? Who's
about to leave his wife, who's got mental problems? It all sounds quite
titillating, doesn't it? It's also private, and unless it's
you you're speaking of, it's GOSSIP. What so-and-so told you may or may
not be the truth, but even if it is, what business is it of yours, or mine, to
hear - or spread?
The gossip you spread or allude to today, may be about you tomorrow. Keep
confidences to yourself, don't crow about having them. If you don't want to
be talked about, don't give anyone the fodder.
Please... take care to be considerate.
