Proximity
He arrives in the ripe Bosch pear I am holding.
He is present in the morning glory's unfolding,
He comes with dawn before darkness is gone
and whispers I love you.
He is here during morning's ablutions.
The mirror shows him if I am quick, look up,
and catch him passing by my elbow;
my ear vibrates with his song.
He is behind me as I prepare the coffee.
He is in front of me as I burn the toast.
He is beside me as I break egg yolks
and says I love you.
He is nearby during the daily routine.
Papers rearrange themselves before my eyes
into semblance of order because he is neat;
my eye sees them squared off and jogged.
He is next to me in market aisles touching produce.
He is in line at the express checkout.
He is parked beside me giving me room to exit
and shouts I love you.
At day end, he pours the merlot into glasses
we touch for the sound of crystal meeting.
He feeds me figs for the fun of it and would
peel grapes for my pleasure, if asked.
He arrives in the smoked cheese I am eating.
He is present in the snap of each sesame cracker.
He comes in the setting sun before night does
and mouths and murmurs I love you.

Necklace
whisper to the touch kiss
he places softly
against my skin
like the autumn leaf
that settles to the ground
another one
then another
in the hollow of my throat.
his hands touch my shoulders
they glide down my arms
and stroke my hips
like the rings of Saturn
he circles me
the dew of his breath
links each kiss --
the chain is complete
on the porch at sunset

57 Worlds
you
are my precious
angel
the one i love now and
the one i love forever
unending
ageless time
is not a four letter
word i cling
to as i give you
all that i have not
that i wanted this
looked for this over and over
you hammered
the walls found
my love wateredit made me flourish
a need words can't
explain
a moonlook night
teaching you to fly a thrill
you can't buy all the way to
heaven
your name tattooed on my thigh
ripping through my soul
caught between my spirit and the dust
your passion flies down the
shadow of our fused subconsciousness
as our bodies synthesize
two souls become one as the song
inside of you becomes an intense vision
fifty seven worlds away
we lie in each other's souls
entwined.
