Welcome to

Irish Toasts (or Blessings)

Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last.

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been,
The foresight to know where you are going,
And the insight to know when you have gone too far.

'Beannachtam na Feile Padraig!'
(Happy St. Patrick's Day!)

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!"

May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

May you always have these blessings...
A soft breeze when summer comes...
A warm fire in winter...
And always - - -
The warm , soft smile of a friend.

You've blessed me with Friends
and Laughter and Fun
With Rain that's as soft
as the Light from the sun -
You've blessed me with Sstars
to brighten each night
You've given me Help
to know wrong from right -
You've given me so much
please, Lord give me too
a heart that is always
Grateful to you....

Here's to you
And here's to me,
And here's to the gal
With the well shaped knee.
And here's to the guy
With his hand on her garter,
He hasn't got far
But he's a damn good starter...

Travel light in life, take only what you need
A loving family, good friends, simple pleasures,
Someone to love - and someone to love you.
Enough to wear, enough to eat
And a little more than enough to drink
For thirst is a dangerous thing.

O long life to the man who invinted potheen -
Sure the Pope ought to make him a martyr -
If myself was this moment Victoria, our Queen,
I'd drink nothing but whiskey and wather.

May your neighbors respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And heaven accept you.

Slainte chuig na fir,
agus go maire na mna go deo!!
(Health to the men,
And may the women live forever!!)

When money's tight and is hard to get,
And your horse has also ran,
When all you have is a heap of debt-
A pint of plain is your only man!

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven half an hour
Before the devil knows you're dead.

May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.

Go mbeirimid beo ar an am seo aris!!
May we all still be alive this time next year!!

Go dtuga Dia fairsinge do chroi i gconai duit.
May God maintain the bounty of your heart always.

May the roof above us never fall in.
And may the friends gathered below it never fall out.

To your enemies' enemies!
May you be in heaven half an hour
Before the devil knows you're dead.

When we drink, we get drunk.
When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.
When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven!

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May the enemies of Ireland never meet a friend.
May there be a generation of children
On the children of your children.

May you live to be a hundred years,
With one extra year to repent!

Here's to your coffin!
May your coffin have six handles of finest silver!
May your coffin be carried by six fair young maids!
And may your coffin be made of finest wood
from a 100-year-old tree,
that I will plant tomorrow!

May you live a long life,
Full of gladness and health,
With a pocket of gold
As the least of your wealth.
May the dreams you hold dearest,
Be those which come true,
The kindness you spread,
Keep returning to you.

May the friendships you make,
Be those which endure,
And all of your grey clouds
Be small one for sure.
And trusting in Him,
To whom we all pray,
May a song fill your heart,
Every step of the way.

-- Grace E. Easley

Here's to you and yours
And to mine and ours.
And if mine and ours
Ever come across to you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do
As much for mine and ours
As mine and ours have done
For you and yours!

May you have warm words
On a cold evening,
A full moon on a dark night,
And the road downhill
All the way to your door

May the Lord keep you in His hand
And never close His fist too tight.

May those who love us, love us;
And those who don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He can't turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles,
So we may know them by their limping.

Go raibh mile máth agat!
May you have a thousand good things!
