Mary Poppins was tavelling one evening when the winds were preposterously
high. She fetched up in the portico of the Savoy Hotel and as she'd gotten
tired of being pummeled by the gusts she decided to check in for the
night.
Feeling a mite peckish, she asked the desk clerk if the restaurant was
still open. He regretfully replied that due to the late hour, it was not,
and that room service had shut down for the night. Upon observing her sigh
of resignation, he offered to go and prepare something himself. Mary
graciously thanked him and told him that simply anything would do, she was
starved.
A few moments after she was shown the room, he knocked at the door and
wheeled in a room service cart with a large plate of fresh, chopped
cauliflower and hot cheese sticks. He apologized for this being all he
could find, but Mary thanked him and tucked in with gusto.
The next morning, Mary decided to indulge in room service before she
checked out. She ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. But mary didn't
enjoy her breakfast very well, the eggs were too runny.
As she checked out, the Day manager recognized such a famous person as
Mary Poppins, and asked her to fill out a comment card. When she returned
it, the manager read her comments:
"Super cauliflower/cheese sticks, eggs were quite atrocious"
