Most conversations (chats) in Callahan's are done in open rooms.
It is possible, however, to use our "Private Room". Our
private room is one in which you may use if no one is in it, and
which you must be invited to enter if someone is.
Please respect the occupants privacy and do not enter our private room
when it is occupied.
Remember that Callahan's is a safe place for all. One
of the more important uses for our private room is protect
newcomers from a joining a conference which might be offensive
to them. If you and your friends are comfortable with
a topic, or with the tone of your room, the next person
entering may not be. If you feel your conversation may be
unsuitable for some, simply use our private room so newcomers
won't stumble in.
The use of our private room is encouraged. We very
much want all our patrons to feel comfortable here.
Also, one should not take it as a personal affront if others
have a reason to chat privately..
Further, it is considered *very* rude to ask what
a private conversation is or was about. It is, or was, after
all, a private conversation.
