Dedicated To Lou

I can't answer the questions you pose, but I understand them.

I have learned a little more Than I knew yesterday Nothing that will shatter earth Little to take pain away

Bits and pieces, unconnected Slices of a larger scheme Images of peacefulness More than just a simple dream

Smallest measures, one by one Adding up so slow Tiny shades of acumen Allowing minds to grow

I look about to find my place Amongst all the confusion Questioning my right to cut Truth from the delusion

Do I know the things to say And do I think I should It seems a fine line separates Doing harm from doing good

But if I step around the pain Allowing it to thrive The world becomes a lesser place And I am less alive

So if I err a time or two I have to still employ The things that I have learned so far To keep increasing joy
