Let me find the place
among the anonymous faces
and cold sounds of traffic
where I can open the door
and enter with relief
to face the smiles of friends,
the comfort of familiarity
and the welcome squeeze on my shoulder.
Let me warm my hands by the fire
and my heart in the laughter.
Linger in the safety and refuge
for as long as I am able.
I will return here again and again
to refresh my spirit,
and remember what it is really all about.
