Welcome to
Callahan's

July 4th, 2000

The glowing embers in the dimming light,
Familiar steps that lead to Callahan's;
The warmth lights e'en the darkest hour of night:
Abounding smiles and friendly waving hands.
Past broken glass, I wander aimlessly,
Confetti remnants of their merriment;
The fluttering notes appear to beckon me
And I obey, no longer hesitant.
Upon each written word my dark eyes rest,
On Peter's, Cortland's, Lou's and many more,
All those unmentioned etched within my breast,
Their kindly wishes broken hopes restore.
From silent lips my heart speaks out to you
In humble gratitude for love so true.
