I've noticed that this folder's not exactly overflowing;
Perhaps it's because RIP's where everybody's going;
Emotions can get hot and heavy in election year;
But let us not forget that with the bad, we need some cheer!
What happened to the jokes, the funny links, and all the puns?
Have they been overwhelmed by talk of torture, war, and guns?
Take heed, 'cause there is time to turn our anger into laughter;
And share our joys so they'll increase for now and ever after.
So, take the time amid debate to share a laugh or two;
You'll be surprised at how good it'll be for me and you;
Shared pain can be diminished, yes, of that we can be sure;
But laughter's the best medicine; C'mon! Let's find a cure!

Which garnered this response from Chris:
Dear Madam.
I have managed to track down one reason for the recent
shortage of humour and wit...
Many wordsmiths are being drawn to the great opportunities
to make large sums of money writing lyrics for rythmical
popular songs. The demand is from all areas of the field,
whether they display the shaved heads of the gangsters to
the longest of dreadlocks. Hairstyle is thus certainly not
an issue and since it is a back-stage activity, those of
limited mobility are not at a disadvantage.
. . . . . . .

"Go for it, rap puns sell!"
