To Cane and Don

Who threw a blast, which we'll long tell;
Who showed us how to do it well;
Who fed us till we'd eat no more;
Who foolish, opened up their door;

Who found the lost, and lost the found;
Who brought us, all, to underground;
Who earned full praise for all we got;
Though they might silent wish us shot.

Cane and Don, with patience rare,
We, Huns invading, welcomed there;
Don and Cane, dazed, now rest:
We toast; they are the very best!
